Enjoy a catered lunch and roundtable discussion with UGA Engineering alums during our Day in the Life series.
Designed to be instructive yet engaging, the Day in the Life allows interested students to connect classroom learning to real world situations. Students can expect to walk through a typical day at work and explore current industry projects. Day in the Life is open to all UGA Engineering Students and a meal will be served to all guests.
All sessions are 12:20 - 1:20 p.m. in room 103 of the Driftmier Engineering Center. Registration is required and dress is business casual.
Please note space is limited to 15 students and spots are available on a first come first serve basis.

Craig Roberts | District Director of Engineering and Operations, Jackson EMC
Craig graduated from UGA in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering and an emphasis in Electrical Systems. During his time at UGA, he co-oped at a consulting firm that specialized in power distribution, transmission, and communication engineering. As a co-op student, he gained valuable experience and began with them full time after graduating. As a consultant, Craig was exposed to a broad range of engineering in the power distribution field. Craig moved into a permanent role with Jackson EMC in 2008 as a Power Distribution Engineer in their Gwinnett District. Craig obtained his P.E. in 2011 and was promoted to District Director of Engineering & Operations in 2014. In his present role, Craig oversees a team of around 75 employees including the engineering department, warehouse, and line crews in Jackson EMC’s Gwinnett service territory. The Gwinnett area contains over half of Jackson EMC’s total customers and over 113,000 meters.

Josh Sirmans | Application Engineer, Lockheed Martin
Josh Sirmans is an Applications Engineer in the Manufacturing Technology Organization at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Marietta, Georgia. Josh has experience in design including structural, equipment, and systems design and fluid/mechanical systems including hydraulics, control surface, and armament systems. Josh currently works as a project lead for the development and integration of advanced technology for global sustainment for all Lockheed Martin Aircraft Platforms. He also works on the integrated product team for all rapid prototyping and tooling for metallic additive parts. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Georgia.
