Celebration of Excellence 2020

Our annual Celebration of Excellence is an opportunity to applaud students, faculty and staff in the University of Georgia College of Engineering for their outstanding achievements. While the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to cancel this year's ceremony, I want to make sure we take time to honor those in our college community who are committed to shaping the future of our program, our state and our world.

As you learn about this year's award recipients at the links below, you will see that faculty in the UGA College of Engineering are committed to solving some of the greatest challenges of our time and to improving instruction through excellence in the classroom and by reimagining the foundations of engineering education.  Equally important is the vital role our staff play in providing excellent student service, creating novel programs that enhance learning at all levels, and developing partnerships that provide valuable professional development opportunities for our students.

Likewise, the students we honor this year are excelling in the classroom, in the lab, and in our communities. It is exciting to watch these students flourish during their time in the College of Engineering and I'm confident they are more than prepared to contribute to the well-being of our state, our nation, and our world.  As engineers, I know they will play a pivotal role in helping us recover from the current crisis.

I want to sincerely thank this year's honorees for their commitment, dedication and hard work.

Donald Leo, Ph.D.

Dean and UGA Foundation Professor in Engineering
