(1) EcoNet is an ecological modeling software that combines dynamical simulations with network analysis. It runs through a web interface on our server at http://eco.engr.uga.edu. Funded by OVPR Faculty Research Grant ($8000).
(2) Search and Verification of Ecological Network Properties and study of Ecological Thermodynamics using a novel computational method which we refer to as "Particle Tracking" where each energy (or mass) packet is labeled and tracked in time as it flows through the network. Obviously it is computationally intensive, so we use a very efficient, numerically exact and stochastic method, which was originally derived for biochemical networks.
(3) Modeling of the phi-6 bacteriophage: We are developing a model for the Phi-6 virus. Phi-6 is chosed because it has only 14 genes. We are still working on optimizing the model by creating new reaction kinetics specific to processes involved in this system. This model will be used to study the questions regarding the evolution of this virus.
