| Membership
in the Faculty
Overall
Criteria
The central
role of a university faculty is to perform curricular activities, and
the primary work of engineers is inspired by the desire to meet needs
by developing new and advanced systems and technologies. Overall, a member
of the Faculty of Engineering will meet both criteria. That is, members
will engage in some activity related to pedagogy and education of engineering
students, and overall, their work will be use-inspired leading to development
of advanced systems. Faculty members from any discipline appointed on
any faculty track and engineers in the private sector (i.e., industry,
agency and non-governmental organization) who devote faculty time to the
University of Georgia are eligible to become members of the Faculty of
Engineering.
Membership
Term
Membership
in the Faculty of Engineering is for a maximum period of five years. A
member may renew membership after each term by submitting a formal application.
Applications will be considered twice an academic year - once each in
the Fall and Spring semesters.
