UGA Engineering students earn GEF Scholarships

Group of students, faculty, and staff gather at the awards banquetThe Georgia Engineering Foundation (GEF) presented scholarships to 12 students in the University of Georgia College of Engineering at the organization’s annual Scholarship Awards Banquet in Atlanta Nov. 15.

GEF scholarships are competitively awarded based on the student’s demonstrated competence in academics, interest in developing a career in engineering, financial need, and school and community involvement. The scholarship program attracted more than 1,000 applications this year.

UGA College of Engineering students awarded scholarships include: John May, John Hoover, Rachel Whitten, Braxton Goodnight, Grace Summers, Madison Smith, Mary Clark , Morgan Hodgkinson, Jeff Fitz, Rosemary Brunner, Logan Bilcik, and William Barrineau.

UGA College of Engineering faculty and staff, including Dean Donald Leo, Assistant Dean for Student Success and Outreach Stephan Durham, Director of Experiential Programs Lauren Anglin, and Academic Advisor Amber Juncker joined students at the event.
