Your child is about to embark on an incredible adventure--one that will expand intellectual horizons in a University renowned for academic excellence, that will foster independence and growth, and will allow him or her to build new friendships while experiencing a new environment, creating once-in-a-lifetime memories. Being on a large campus and in the beautiful city of Athens, your child will have many opportunities, and here in the College of Engineering, we strive not only to provide excellent resources, but also to create a sense of community that gives students that home-away-from-home atmosphere.
While your child is a student at the University of Georgia, we encourage parents to get involved in our College, not only to have questions answered, but to join us in our College-wide events to get to know the fantastic faculty, staff, and peers with whom your child is surrounded. Since the College was established, new traditions have been introduced, and we would love for you to join us for these hallmark celebrations. In the fall, the College hosts a Homecoming tailgate for faculty, staff, students, and Alum prior to the Homecoming game. In the spring, we host an “E-day on G-day” event. For more details on these events, please contact Mickey Montevideo, Public Relations Coordinator for the College, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
