Transfer Student Week Profile: River Faulkner

Major
Environmental Engineering

Hometown
Cumming, Georgia

Transferred to UGA from:
Kennesaw State University

What has been your greatest challenge as a transfer student?

"Juggling various aspects of moving from town to town during my college career has been especially challenging. Combining this with having to retake courses, sacrifice some of the credits I've earned and learning to integrate away from previous organizations into new ones can make transferring especially daunting and challenging."

What has enabled you to be successful as a transfer student at UGA?

"The staff in the College of Engineering at UGA has made my transfer experience especially successful. Having faculty mentors that take personal interest in your achievements and success has made transferring not only an easier experience but one that I can look back on and know that I made the right choice."

Nominator
Joshua Cooke

“I'm nominating River because he is one of the most passionate students I know. In addition to his BSENVE degree, he is also pursuing a Horticulture Minor to further his craft. River is one of the most consistently pleasant students to work with and I always get a lot out of our conversations.”
