Engineers Week 2021
I hope your semester is going well and that you are staying safe and healthy.
Monday, February 22 marks the start of Engineers Week, a national celebration of the profound ways in which the engineering profession impacts our communities, our nation, and the world. Several years ago, our college started a tradition where we utilize Engineers Week to promote student engagement and highlight the importance of professional development. I encourage you to participate in the many activities planned this week including employer events, alumni of the day, resume building workshop, and student organization competitions. Additionally, I hope you will take advantage of the professional development seminars that we have scheduled Monday through Thursday which include speakers from Google, Juneau Construction, Optim Orthopedics, and Lockheed Martin. More information about this week’s activities is found in the attached flyer and on our Engineering Calendar.
In honor of Black History Month and Engineers Week, we will be highlighting the many ways that our Black students, faculty, and alumni of the College of Engineering have blazed trails within our college, throughout the nation, and across the world. Please follow along with spotlights posted on our website and social media throughout the week. We celebrate these accomplishments while understanding the challenges that remain in making our college, our profession, and our society more inclusive and equitable.
Have a great Engineers Week!
