"In high school I was infected with Lyme disease, and I was unable to receive a quick diagnosis due to lack of consistent testing technology, which caused me to develop chronic symptoms. While I eventually recovered, this experience drove me to enter the Biomedical Engineering field in order to develop new technologies to improve healthcare."
